Intermediate / Step 3 Sewing Course

Skills required:

You need to be able to thread up a sewing machine, wind on a bobbin and sew a few seams

If you:
  • are able to sew 
  • have completed my Sewing Beginners/Step2 course
  • would like to refresh or increase your sewing skills 
I've devised another new set of makes for this course - lots of lovely projects, with opportunities to design and get creative with upcycled fabric and different forms of stitching!  Plus as always, techniques that are versatile for use in other items.

You'll be led by Aliss, a specialist sewing tutor offering guidance and demonstrations. We're always a small group so you'll get lots of help.
You'll have opportunities to improve and develop your sewing, as well as learning next step challenges and hand sewing techniques.

Bring your own fabric and haberdashery to make your items - or purchase some in the studio

What you'll learn:

- Practice, improve and increase your sewing techniques
- Sewing curves and corners
- Joining multiple pieces of fabric (patchwork)
- Try out Free motion embroidery
- Adding applique / hand stitching
- Inserting zips 
- Make a useful project each week

Course fee : £150 if you bring your own sewing machine, or borrow one in the studio + £15
