What will I learn?
Understand how to use a commercial paper pattern to make a garment - suggest for first-timers a simple top, trousers or skirt using a stable woven fabric
We'll go over how to take your measurements, fabric layout and cutting out.
We'll also look at pattern instructions, haberdashery and a few useful gadgets!

Skills required:
You'll need to have some experience of sewing ( its an ideal follow-on course after Beginner Sewing )

I will also demo professional techniques for you to try out.
You'll need to have some experience of sewing ( its an ideal follow-on course after Beginner Sewing )

Challenge yourself with a different garment style!
I will also demo professional techniques for you to try out.
In a small group, you'll be led by Aliss - a specialist sewing tutor offering guidance, technical demos and step-by-step instructions for making your garment.
You'll get expert help, from cutting out your fabric, understanding the pattern instructions to constructing your garment. Your tutor Aliss will guide you through all the necessary steps to help you make your item of clothing.
You'll have opportunities to look at sample fabric + garments, practice and develop your sewing techniques and creative skills, as well as discussing ideas in your group.
For advanced clothes making, you'll have the option to learn simple pattern alterations and more professional finishing techniques, such as adding seam binding, facings and lining.

Course fee : £150 if you bring your own sewing machine, or borrow one in the studio + £15
Beginner course available if you're not quite ready for Clothes!
